How much money do you need to start cycling?
To begin cycling, all that you really need is a bike. A new bicycle can cost more than $10,000, or it can cost as low as $200 (and even less). It all depends on how much money you can spare. You can save even more by looking into used bicycles.
How long should a beginner cyclist ride?
Cycle for 15 to 20 minutes for your first two allocated cycle days. Cycle for 30 minutes on the weekend. For this week, we’re going to remove one of the days, and cycle for longer on the remaining two days. We would recommend cycling for 25 minutes on the Wednesday, and 35 minutes on the weekend.
What does a beginner cyclist need?

Is cycling an expensive hobby?
While the numbers may seem as though cycling is an expensive hobby, the truth is that it’s more affordable than you think it is. By making good choices from the start and being smart about the way you use your gear, you can save money while enjoying your new hobby.
Are cheap bikes worth?
Yes. Cheaper bikes usually won’t be able to last as long. However, I’ve seen lots of people that have had the same $99 bike in their garage for 10, 20 years. If you buy a $50 bike and you ride it once every five years, sure, it should last you 10 years.
What is the 75 rule in cycling?
The 75 -percent rule states that during a given training week, at least 75 percent of your miles (or time) should be at or below 75 percent of your maximum heart rate (MHR).
Why is biking so hard?
A bike is hard to pedal because it’s in the incorrect gear for the terrain or because of excessive friction. Changing to a smaller gear or reducing the friction makes riding easier. The cause of friction can be brake pads rubbing against the rim or disc, insufficient chain lubrication or low tire pressure.
